Glad to hear all of you are adjusting to the big boy bed. :) We struggle to keep Lucy in her crib now...I can only imagine what the future holds. But as frustrating as it can be at times...there are moments where she is snuggled next me in our bed and I just don't care about the 'rules' anymore :) Have a wonderfully happy Wednesday!

Yeah for Barrett and Mommy! The potty training was a lot easier than I thought...but I credit daycare/peer pressure and Tommy just being ready. 3 weeks ago today we sent in underwear and lots of extra clothes at the teacher's suggestion, after he successfully went on the potty several times (1 and 2!) while still in diapers since they often go as a group with the kids in the class. He has hardly had any accidents, and I only use a pull up on him at night. I do think it was a combo of Tommy being ready as well as the fact he was seeing other kids go, so just take it as it comes. He had more accidents at home the first few days, which I wondered at first was because I kept HOUNDING him with questions if he had to go. I eased up, and now, he lets me know when he has to go, and I only ask before we are going somewhere in the car or for a walk away from the house. I just know that what works for one kid does not always work for another, so be patient, which it seems you are. I know we might have a setback at some point as well, but don't be surprised if Vivienne gets trained earlier...girls usually do train earlier I read, and if she sees her brother going, she might want to try sooner. My cousin's youngest daughter will be 2 in June and is potty trained...she initiated it herself because she watched her 2 older sisters, who were between 3 and 3 1/2 when they were trained - so every child is different! Average age for boys is 39 months, girls 36 months. We had no clue how to even approach it. The potty training DVD I got for free from some website is still sitting unopened on my counter because I was procratinating, but then Tommy was just ready and it just happened. The horror stories I have heard from people are usually from friends who started to try at 18 months or younger. With some kids it might work, but I don't think that's a majority! Good luck!

My 2 year old boy is happy as a clam in his crib and I am keeping it that way for as long as I can BUT I know the time will come sooner than later.

LOL! Tommy is in a big boy bed for a few months now, but RARELY gets out of it in the morning, but when he does nap in it, he will. He has also figure out how to unlock the front screen door and apparently showed my mom how the back gate works, which is still too high for him to reach, but she said he actually showed her since she could not figure it out...mind you we had the fence installed only a short time ago to KEEP him in the backyard, but he has apparently outsmarted us already!!!

Sounds like an awesome retreat! I would love to go on one one day! I have been on many youth retreats and in college too and one right out of college but I think it's been at least 5 years and I have never been to one with just women. How fun and what good insights you gleaned.
