I'm glad I didn't. We have found a nice balance. I think I've finally adjusted to our new normal. I've even been able to petting the dogs and saying nice things to them again. I know it sounds awful, but there have been days that it was too much just to pet them.
The other day, I was watching a movie and saw Jack laying on the floor. Just so happy to be with us. I got off the couch, sat on the floor and gently rubbed his middle-aged face. John's jaw just about fell through the floor.
I'm happy to say, we're back on track. Kids are having fun with the dogs and I have been doing a much better job tending to Jack & Jill, and am even sad thinking of the day that they'll leave this family.
Sometimes time is just all you need.

I love those moments where things fall into place with your household. I don't have a dog, but I have a chinchilla and a newborn. While the chin requires less attention then some pets, he still needs some and its been hard with the baby. Finally had a min today to take care of him and it was nice.
