R.I.P. Blockbuster

First, let me apologize for my absence. Since Barrett has been moving faster, I have slowed waaaaay down. I looked at John this morning and said, "what were we so excited about? why did we want him to crawl so bad?" It is a real game-changer! But, it's adorable to watch his precise moves. He concentrates while crawling on keeping good form. He's like a little battery-operated crawling doll. We have video I'll post later.

So, our local Blockbuster is going out of business. I am so bummed! Even though we have Netflix and BB online, there's still something about walking down the aisle and choosing your movie for the night, that I will really miss. Last weekend, I strolled down the aisles and memory lane. For as long as I can remember, one of our family traditions on the weekends was to watch a video, er DVD, er BlueRay, oh whatever, together. And, it was a tradition John and I picked up even when we started dating. As I looked at some of the old movies I had rented over-and-over-and-over again, I felt like I needed to rescue them. Adopt them. Save them and bring them home, one last time...for good. Here are the new additions to our family (mostly movies I've watched at least 100x --don't judge!)

• My Girl
• Starwars Ewoks Adventures
• Harry and the Hendersons
• Dead Poets Society
• Hope Floats
• Godfather

I couldn't wait to watch Starwars Ewok Adventures--Barrett and I watched it Sunday while John was running the Shamrock Shuffle and we (mostly I) LOVED IT STILL!!!! I forgot how good that movie was! I seriously must have rented it every Friday night for like 3 years of my childhood. Now, I'm so happy I have it in my house and can show it to Bear when he gets older.

Goodbye Blockbuster. We had a good time together, didn't we? Rest in peace.

I can see them going out of business. Netflix and BB online is more convenient. But it is sad because I grew up going to Blockbuster as well.
